Cherie DeVille Pens Sex Worker ‘Guide to Surviving the Recession’ for the Daily Beast

LOS ANGELES — Cherie DeVille has penned an opinion piece for the Daily Beast, titled “A Porn Star’s Guide To Surviving the Recession” and explaining practical tips for these tough economic times. 

“Since her start in the industry in 2010, Cherie has been through a previous recession, the emergence of stolen content on tube sites, and the very recent threat of OnlyFans banning porn,” a rep noted. “Through it all, Cherie made sure she had a backup plan that included five steps to keep her afloat.”

According to the rep, these steps “are helpful not only to sex workers but ‘civilians’ as well. Cherie explains having more than one stream of income will ensure survival when things continue to change. She strongly encourages saving funds when things are fruitful to create a cushion when cash flow dries up. “

With change coming so fast, DeVille also points out how adapting is important and how sex workers need to utilize every platform available and look for new marketing tips from every source they can.

“Keeping your name out there is extremely important,” the rep continued. “Cherie suggests constant interaction on social media or sites like LinkedIn. Finally, Cherie touts ‘The Golden Rule.’ Treating people with the same respect you expect goes a long way. Cherie points out that burning bridges with production companies will only hurt you in the long run.”

DeVille noted that although surviving a recession is important to any career, the nature of sex work comes with its unique obstacles.”

“Being in the industry for over a decade and becoming one of the top stars was not by accident,” she said. “I followed all my tips myself to get where I am. I want my fellow sex workers and my fans to be successful, and I want to share my advice to help them achieve their goals.
